Operation Go Quickly travelled to Cap Haitian, Haiti, on February 15, 2017, and returned March 4. Traveling with Dr. Fred Sorrells were Kurt Chappell (hearing aid fittings), Larry Boyd (sports) and Glendoria Boyd (children and special needs) plus prison ministry. Haitian artist and amputee soccer player Francillon Chery joined the ministry team as well. Our first ever prison ministry touched 900 incarcerated men, women and minors in the main prison at Cap Haitian. The gospel was shared in word and deed. Hallelujah! Children heard and saw the gospel shared through the Wordless Book lead by Good News Club specialist Glendoria Boyd. “Let the little children come unto Me”, Jesus said. And came they did. Amputees from the area gathered for two amputee soccer practices/games. One or more will compete for roster places on the 2017 Haiti national amputee soccer team heading to the Cup of the Americas tournament in Los Angeles this summer. Multi-sport referee and volunteer Larry Boyd added amputee soccer to his officiating resume after calling the two games.
